Theme & Plugins Installation
Requirements and compatibility
The theme is fully compatible with WordPress 4.7. Before beginning the installation of your theme and its plugins, you must first have WordPress already installed on a server.
Since most web hosts provide one-click WordPress installation, just follow their instructions.
If your web host does not provide such an option, we'd recommend you the following:
- Make sure they meet the following minimum server requirements.
- Review the WordPress detailed installation guide here.
- These basic guidelines can be helpful as well.
You can install the theme automatically or manually.
Automatic installation (recommended)
The easiest way to install (and later update) your theme is to use the following plugin from Envato.
Just download the plugin and follow the installation guide from Envato.
There are two ways to install the theme manually:
- WordPress Administration Panel Upload;
- FTP Upload.
To install the theme, you must first upload the theme files via one of the installation methods and then activate the theme itself.
We have provided a child theme in case you want to modify the theme while keeping it up to date. The child theme is included within the main .zip file downloaded from Themeforest.
You can read more about child themes here.
Note: the child theme does not work without the main theme. Therefore, you have to upload both themes.
WordPress Administration Panel Upload
Step 1: Navigate to Appearance > Themes in your WordPress administration panel.
Step 2: Click the Add New button at the top of the page.
Step 3: Click the Upload theme button at the top of the page.
Step 4: Select the theme .zip file in the theme package downloaded from Themeforest and click Install Now.
Step 1: Connect to your website host using your FTP client (for example, FileZilla).
Step 2: Go to your default WordPress themes folder (/wp-content/themes/) and upload the non-zipped theme folder into that folder (/wp-content/themes/).
Final step for both methods: Navigate to Appearance > Themes in your WordPress administration panel and click Activate (the uploaded theme) once the upload has finished.
After the theme's activation you'll see a banner above all the content notifying you to install the theme's recommended plugins. More about the theme's recommended plugins read here.
If you don't want to install the plugins, you can dismiss this notice by pressing the correspondent link. Later you'll be able to view the list of plugins by going to Appearance - Install Plugins.
If you want to install the plugins, please, press the 'Begin activating plugins' link or go to Appearance - Install Plugins.
Within the next several seconds, all the chosen plugins will be installed and activated.
If some of the plugins have not been installed, you can install them manually. For that, open your theme's main file, find the plugins you need, go to Plugins - Add new - upload and activate them.
Now, you are ready to work with the theme.
If you want to install the demo content, please, follow the instructions.
Missing stylesheet issue
While installing the theme manually, you may see the "The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet." message.
Don't worry. If you see this message, it means you've uploaded a wrong theme's file (actually, you're trying to upload the main theme's file containing the theme, its plugins, documentation, etc.)
Please, open this .zip file, find the theme's .zip file in it, and use it instead.
